UNO’s Office of Digital Learning, in partnership with NU Online and UNO’s Center for Faculty Excellence, will be hosting a campus visit by Dr. Elizabeth Barkley, author of Student Engagement Techniques: A Handbook for College Faculty (Jossey-Bass, 2010) and Collaborative Learning Techniques: A Handbook for College Faculty (Jossey-Bass, 2014).
Dr. Barkley will share ideas on how college faculty can improve the quality and effectiveness of their teaching. The presentation will be Wednesday, Oct. 25, beginning at 11 A.M. in CEC 201/205/209.
The University Committee for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT) is pleased to announce this event has been identified as a “Designated Professional Development” opportunity and is making available a limited number of professional development stipends to support faculty integrating information and strategies learned at this session into their own course(s). Grant recipients are expected to attend Barkley’s presentation and agree to present their work at a campus event in spring 2018.
