The Collaboration Initiative is designed to help University of Nebraska researchers become more competitive for extramural funding by helping foster meaningful collaborations that leverage the full intellectual capacity of faculty across the campuses.
This year’s Request for Applications (RFA) will solicit proposals from faculty teams that are studying extramurally fundable research question(s) using a broad multidisciplinary “systems” approach.
Researchable topics will not be administratively pre-defined, but applications must be designed to position the team to submit a highly competitive extramural funding application immediately following the completion of their proposed work. To be funding eligible, PI's must attend the Collaboration Initiative Retreat on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017. Registration for the retreat must be completed by Oct. 27, 2017.
Applications are due by 5PM (CST) on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.
For more information, please download the RFA pdf.
If you are planning to submit a proposal as either a Principal Investigator (with UNO as the prime applicant) or a Co-Investigator (participating on the proposal with another NU campus as the lead), please follow these instructions:
- A Notice of Intent (NOI) must be submitted to email@example.com for UNO lead and non-lead proposals by completing this CI Cover Page by November 22, 2017.
- ORCA staff will contact you regarding budget, compilation of proposal components, and internal submission and routing of approvals via MavGrants. We will contact you by November 29, 2017 about moving forward with your proposal. If you have any questions regarding participating in the Collaboration Initiative, please contact Dr. Sara Myers at firstname.lastname@example.org
Questions may be directed to Vice Provost Dr. David Jackson email@example.com
