Maverick Landing, the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) new welcome and visits center, opens Tuesday, Oct. 3.
This new space on Scott Campus creates new opportunities to welcome prospective students, their families, and other visitors to UNO, while also providing a new social space for current students.
Throughout the space, there is open social seating and study spaces for students to use, as well as a coffee bar and grab-and-go counter managed and staffed by Scott Dining. Have questions? Maverick Landing also features a MavIGATION Station. MavIGATORS are excited to welcome visitors and answer questions.
Maverick Landing also features a presentation room that can seat up to 50 people. This space will support campus visits, orientation programs, and other campus events. UNO’s Academic and Career Development Center (ACDC) will be among the groups using this space. ACDC will offer satellite services at Maverick Landing for individualized academic and career advising needs, in addition to workshops.
The building on Dodge Campus that previously functioned as the home for campus visits, referred to as the Welcome Center, will receive a name change as Maverick Landing becomes the new welcome and visits center for the university. Visitors will no longer land on Dodge Campus. Instead, visitors to the university will be greeted by Campus Visits staff at Maverick Landing.
