Sunday, Oct. 29 marks the 30th Annual Symposium on Jewish Civilization entitled ‘Next Year in Jerusalem: Exile and Return in Jewish History’.
This internationally famous yearly event is organized bythe Schwalb Center for Israel and Jewish Studies (University of Nebraska-Omaha) Klutznick Chair in Jewish Civilization (Creighton University), the Kripke Center for the Study of Religion and Society (Creighton University) and the Harris Center for Judaic Studies (University of Nebraska-Lincoln).
This year, the opening talk will be given by Dr. Haim Sperber – a renowned Israeli scholar who was also a friend of the late Dr. Moshe Gershovich, who brought the annual symposium to UNO. Dr. Sperber’s talk is titled ‘Is Zionism a Movement of Return?’
