Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom – Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., answered questions and provided an update on his transition and the University of Nebraska budget response during a campus forum on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
Dr. Gold said the next phase of Budget Response Team recommendations, which include a number of cost-saving strategies across eight areas, should be announced in the near future. The announcement follows the rollout of the first phase of Budget Response Team recommendations in August.
Dr. Gold also discussed the recent announcement of the integration of several UNO and UNMC functions, thanking everyone who participated in a review process that led to the recommendations.
While some efficiencies might be realized through this integration, Dr. Gold said the review was separate from the budget response process, and focused on one specific theme.
“The single marching order was excellence,” he said. "How do we continue on the journey of excellence?”
