Call for Nominations: Outstanding Innovation in Teaching and Technology Award

The award recognizes faculty members who have contributed significant, creative teaching innovations that promote effective and deeper learning; submit your nomination by March 31.

Each Spring, a UNO faculty member is recognized with the Outstanding Innovation in Teaching with Technology Award.

Sponsored by Nebraska ITS, the award honors faculty who have implemented outstanding innovative teaching approaches shown to increase student learning, engagement and success. The award recognizes faculty members who have contributed significant, creative teaching innovations that promote effective and deeper learning via technology.

  • The use of new instructional technologies, the use of traditional technologies in creative ways;

  • The adoption of teaching strategies that scale through the use of technology;

  • The adoption of tools or integrations that engage students in the learning process.


Submit Your Nomination

All full-time and part-time UNO faculty teaching in the current academic year are eligible to be nominated. Nominations may be made by a current or former student, faculty member, staff member, or administrator. Individuals can also self-nominate. This award will be presented at the 2023 Digital Learning Showcase.

2023 Digital Learning Showcase

April 25, 2023

The Digital Learning Showcase is an annual event designed to celebrate innovative approaches faculty have utilized when they teach online or with technology. At this event, faculty will lead 15-minute breakout sessions highlighting impactful digital course activities that drive engagement, connectivity, retention, and student success in their courses.

We will also present the Outstanding Innovation in Teaching with Technology Award, as well as recognize faculty who have been instrumental in establishing UNO’s online presence over the last 25 years. Drop in for all or part of this event!
