In its first year at UNO, the Dance Marathon raised $36,297.62 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Over 400 dancers danced for 12 straight hours on Saturday, April 1st at the Milo Bail Student Center.
The $36,297.62 was the most raised for Children's Miracle Network of any new program in 2016-2017.
"It really was an amazing event because it was truly "For the Kids," so we did everything we could to promote that message to our dancers," said event organizer Nick Rieschl.
Rieschl agreed to have his head shaved if $1,000 was raised between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The goal was met with ease, so one of the "miracle kids" in attendance, Matt Lewis, brought out the razors.
