OMAHA – A change to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) application process will make it easier for military and veteran dependents to apply. Effective immediately, the University’s $45 application fee is waived for Spring 2016 and all future applicants.
The change comes on the same month that “Military Times” named UNO the nation’s best 4-year school for veterans, for the second year in a row.
UNO’s Office of Military and Veteran Services requested the application change, which will allow the office to better identify and serve UNO’s entire military-affiliated population, including servicemembers’ immediate family members.
The University eliminated the application fee for military and veteran students in 2013.
Dependents who have already paid the application fee for the Spring-Fall 2016 term are eligible for a refund, and should contact the Office of Military and Veteran Services by calling 402.554.2349 or emailing email@example.com.
UNO is currently home to more than 1,600 military-affiliated students, totaling more than 10 percent of the general student population. UNO’s Office of Military and Veteran Services supports military-affiliated students’ academic achievement, career attainment, financial health, and overall physical and mental wellness.
