OMAHA – University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) students, alumni, faculty and staff will soon test the pipes at the new Baxter Arena.
The Baxter Arena Flush-Off is set for Tuesday, Sept. 29. Shortly after 4:30 p.m., participants will flush all of the toilets in the Arena in unison. The goal of the event is to ensure that pipes are ready for the grand opening in October.
At the start of the semester, 400 participants were randomly selected from a pool of applicants to take part in the event.
All participants will receive a free t-shirt and get a chance to sample Baxter Arena concessions. Five lucky students will win a year supply of toilet paper and a Maverick swag bag from Student Involvement.
The event kicks off one of many ways that students will be actively involved at Baxter Arena. The success of UNO would not be possible without the motivation, involvement and passion of its students, student athletes, faculty, staff and alumni.
Any member of the news media is welcome to attend, but is asked to RSVP by contacting Kellie Wostrel at email@example.com.
For additional media inquiries, please contact Sam Petto, UNO Media Relations Coordinator, at 402.554.2704 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
