OMAHA – The University of Nebraska at Omaha will officially dedicate Baxter Arena, and Omaha Athletics will host its annual Maverick Kick-Off event on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. All members of the news media are invited to attend.
The dedication ceremony will take place in the community ice arena with Chancellor John E. Christensen, Vice Chancellor of Athletics Trev Alberts and special guests including coaches and athletes from the four UNO teams that will call Baxter Arena home.
Following the dedication ceremony, guests will be invited to tour the main arena and watch a skills competition put on by the UNO hockey team.
The Maverick Kick-Off marks the beginning of Omaha Athletics’ The One Fund annual campaign. This year, the chairs of The One Fund campaign are George and Anna Little.
