Market Research & Demand

  4. Market Research & Demand

We’re leveraging the latest technological tools and data insights to support our campus partners in new program development, target market identification, and demand analysis.

Market Research

We are using best-in-class industry tools to provide insights to support credit and non-credit program development. Our tools tap into thousands of job postings to identify the current and future skills and competencies that are in demand in today’s workplace.

We recognize the wealth of disciplinary expertise that exists on campus. Our goal is to complement campus existing expertise with real-time insights based on data. Market research can assist you and your program by identifying:

  • High demand soft-skills
  • In demand technical skills
  • Credential and or degree qualifications requested
  • Projected growth opportunities in career fields
  • Local, regional, and national industry trends related to job opportunities

The above examples are just a sample of how market research can be leveraged to strengthen your program, whether you’re considering the creation of a new program, revising an existing program, or realigning course objectives.

Demand Analysis

As a learning-centered division, our goal is to support program success. To do so requires an understanding of the broader workforce and higher education landscape. In some cases, demand analysis is completed upon request, meaning our campus partners request a demand analysis to better align their programs with current community and industry needs.

However, findings from our analysis may also initiate a new program opportunity. In such cases, ILCI will coordinate with campus partners to offer programs that are responsive to community needs which are aligned with our mission as a metropolitan campus.

Interested in Requesting a Report?

Contact us at innovate@unomaha.edu to discuss your specific program needs and priorities. We can assist you in understanding how best to leverage market research and demand analysis with other types of data and insights that may be available to you.

How Does Market Research Impact Your Work?

Market research is available to the UNO campus through our division. Each semester, a proactive report will be shared with campus and college leadership, outlining areas of greatest opportunity using Lightcast (formerly Emsi Burning Glass), Eduventures, and Hanover Research as well a number of other campus, local and national resources.

If Deans or Department Chairs are interested in customer market research, we would be happy to support you! Please contact us to get started with your request. Our New Market Research Analyst will get in touch with you shortly upon receiving your message.
