There are many other tools for specific uses such as archiving, updating your personal information or teaching and supporting classes online. Get in touch with your web lead in your respective area for specific questions or reach out to the Digital Communications Web Teams via Start Your Project.
The Content Management System
The transition of the UNO website into the content management system (CMS) is being rolled out in phases. For questions regarding this process, please contact University Communications, Digital Communication Team.
Personal and Profile Pages
UNO has faculty and staff directory templates that contain most of the information the general public may need to know about you. This allows you to list all your interests, pull in your research or other work and have an official university page while still linking to your personal site. The Digital Communications Team is open to hearing how these could be improved and you can provide feedback and future ideas here.
Also here are some good examples of profile pages already on UNOmaha.edu:
For developing your own personal site, it can be created with a variety of tools, such as Google Sites or a variety of third party tools like Wordpress, Wix, Weebly and Squarespace, among others, on your own.
Since UNO uses Google Apps for Education as the student email system, gmav, faculty and staff accounts are also setup to use Google Apps, including Google Sites. Google Sites allows you to create and edit websites using an online editor. It is most often used as a wiki or student portfolio since it no coding experience is required.
