OneDrive – Store and Share Files
ITS Moving Box Data to Microsoft Cloud Storage
The University of Nebraska is in the process of moving from Box to OneDrive. Microsoft’s suite of OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams will be the university’s preferred general-purpose storage and collaboration tool.
Besides the benefit of using a storage solution that aligns with Microsoft services already used by the university, Box is dramatically raising its prices and ending its storage offering.
Migration Timeline
- Campus communications began June 2020 and will continue through completion of migration
- Box accounts will no longer be automatically created for new users after Fall 2020
- No new data uploaded to Box after May 16th, 2021
- Box will be decommissioned on December 31, 2021
- Starting January 2022, Microsoft’s suite of OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams will be the university’s preferred general-purpose storage and collaboration tool.
