Why do I have multiple sets of credentials?
Everyone associated with the University of Nebraska and State College System are given an NUID (Nebraska Unique Identity Number) sometimes called their TrueYou Identity as their unique identifier across the entire system.
Once users are tied to a specific institution they are given credentials that are unique to that institution. At the University of Nebraska Omaha, this is called a NetID.
NUID(TrueYou Identity) VS NETID
|What is it||Unique eight digit identification number that is the same across Nebraska University and State College Systems.||Unique username specific to UNO that is a combination of your first and last name|
|How is it assigned||This is assigned during the application or hiring processes||This is assigned when admitted or when paperwork finishes within HR|
|How do I access it||To access your eight digit NUID for the first time go to trueyou.nebraska.edu and claim it||To access your NetID username for the first time, visit the "Password Assistance" sidebar at my.unomaha.edu|
Why don't I have a NetID?

|Former Faculty/Staff||Once paperwork has gone through the system all services will be disabled.|
|Retirees||Retirees will have the option of keeping an email once they leave the University.|
