MavLINK Parent/Guest Access
Students can authorize another person, such as a parent or guardian, to view specific types of personal information in the Student Information System (SIS) through a Guest Account.
A student can request an account to give this access through their Mavlink Account. For more information about the access that can be given please visit the FERPA page on the Office of the University Registrar's site.
LMS Guest Accounts
Faculty or staff can request a visitor account be created for the purposes of granting temporary access to a canvas course to someone who is not enrolled in the course by emailing email@example.com. The different request types are:
- UNO Student - Use for anyone who has a UNO NetID and needs access to a Canvas course with the role of student. For example Incomplete, Independent Student, or Accessibility Needs.
- External Guest - Use for anyone who DOES NOT have a UNO NetID and you want to give access to your course. People have used this option for guest lecturers.
- Multiple Guests - Use for participants of an educational program or series that are not enrolled through MavLINK.
Sponsored Guest Accounts
For people like contractors, vendors, volunteers, and other individuals not employed by the university, but are associated with the university and need a UNO email address, sponsored guest accounts can be created that allow these individuals access to email and other services as specified by the person requesting them.
This is important because having the proper credentials will give access to things like the Wi-Fi and other amenities offered by the university. To apply for a sponsored guest account to receive such access, follow these instructions to fill out the Volunteer PAF that will grant you with a university-affiliated account.
