Student Employee of the Year
Student Employee of the Year Ceremony - 2018
May 3, 2018 3 P.M. in the MBSC Nebraska Room
Guest Speaker: Cathy Pettid, Assistant Chancellor for Student Affairs
All students employed in Student Worker or Work Study positions. Graduate assistants and teaching assistants are not eligible.
Students must have been employed for a minimum of 6 months between July 2017 and June 2018 (anticipated).
Students will be evaluated on these qualities:
- Dedication and professionalism
- Responsibility and reliability
- Initiative and creativity
- Uniqueness of the student employee's contribution. In the case of a tie, this will be the deciding factor.
Please address all four criteria specifically in your nomination letter so that the selection committee can more effectively compare the candidates.
Nomination letters will be read and evaluated by a committee made up of campus staff who deal with student employees in a variety of ways. No person working with any of the nominated students will be on the committee.
The committee members evaluate the nomination letters and assign them points according to the criteria listed above. The committee meets to discuss their evaluations of the nominating letters and review their votes to choose the Student Employee of the Year.
In the event of a tie, the criteria of “uniqueness of the student employee’s contribution” will be the deciding factor in the committee’s final vote.
One or more students will be awarded prizes at the ceremony to celebrate UNO’s student employees.
The Student Employment Reception will be held on Thursday, May 3 in the Milo Bail Student Center Nebraska Room. The event is open to the entire campus community.
