Communities of Practice
Communities of Practice offers Opportunities to:
- Connect faculty members from multiple disciplines;
- Stimulate learning via communication, mentoring and self-reflection;
- Compile and disseminate existing knowledge to promote best practices;
- Support collaborative processes to explore beneficial opportunities; and
- Organize purposeful actions with measurable results.
CoP Requirements
- Each CoP must have a minimum of three members.
- Complete an application and submit to the Center for Faculty Excellence by October 5.
- Each CoP must meet at least five times during the academic year.
- CoP groups must document one or more of the following measurable outcomes for members to be eligible for up to a $100 stipend.
a. Conference Presentation
b. Published Research (or submitted for publication)
c. Surveys/Assessments
d. Secured Funding Sources
e. Evidence of Application of Teaching Techniques
f. Evidence of Incorporation of Knowledge in Classroom - Submit outcomes assessment no later than April 1 of the academic year in which the CoP operated.
Applications are available on NuRamp at the start of each Fall semester.
