How many members may participate in a Community of Practice?
Community of Practice groups should have a minimum of 3 members. Active participants will be awarded a professional development funds from the Center for Faculty Excellence of up to $100. Although there is no limit on the number of participants in each group, the maximum funding per Community of Practice group is $1200.
What can the Professional Development Stipend be used for?
Professional development or classroom-instruction related expenses in accordance with departmental processes. Funds will be disbursed to a cost center created for Professional Developmet funds and identified for participating individuals.
May we participate in more than one Community of Practice?
Yes, individuals may participate in multiple groups; however, they will only be eligible to receive $100 in professional development funds from the Center for Faculty Excellence relating to Communities of Practice.
May adjunct (part-time) faculty participate in Communities of Practice?
Yes, UNO adjunct faculty are encouraged to participate in Communities of Practice.
How do we know our Community of Practice has been accepted?
Applications are due by October 5th. Facilitators will be notified when the application has been received and accepted.
How many times do we need to meet?
Communities of Practice are expected to meet at least five times during the academic year. Groups must be registered by October 5 and submit outcomes no later than April 1 of that academic year.
