How many Dual Enrollment classes can I register for at one time?
Dual Enrollment students can register for as many dual enrollment courses as they would like. However, these are challenging courses that require your full attention and effort. If you sign up for dual enrollment, your grade will be recorded on an official UNO transcript and count towards your cumulative GPA at any school in the NU system. Your counselor and teachers can consult with your high school's Dual Enrollment Coordinator to help you pick the classes that fit best with your college and career plans.
How do I find out if a course is Dual Enrollment?
View the full list of dual enrollment courses offered at your high school, or you can talk with your teacher. If you are interested in taking a dual enrollment course in future semesters, it is highly recommended you speak with your high school counselor to plan a schedule that includes dual enrollment classes. Each semester, a representative from UNO will come to your school to visit with students who are in courses being offered for dual enrollment.
How and when do I register for Dual Enrollment Courses?
Registration for UNO Dual enrollment takes place online. The process is simple and easy to navigate. Read more information and specific instructions for applying. You must be in the high school section in order to register for the dual enrollment option. The parent or guardian must approve the student’s participation in the dual enrollment program as part of the application process. Students WILL NOT be able to enroll in the dual enrollment program if the parents/guardians fail to approve the student application during the registration window. Once the registration deadline has passed, UNO cannot accept any additional registrations, and will not retroactively enroll students. Here are the registration deadlines for your high school. It is a good idea to talk with your parent/guardian, teacher, or counselor to determine if taking a Dual Enrollment class is right for you. The grade you earn will become part of your permanent college transcript at UNO.
Where can I find information about my student account?
After your application has been processed, you will receive two emails from TrueYou. The first email will contain your NUID (Nebraska Unique Identifier) and the second email will contain your temporary password. Please follow the links in the emails to set up your password so that you can access MavLINK, UNO's student portal. Enter your NUID and newly created password in MavLINK to see your student schedule, make a payment, request a transcript, etc.
What email do I provide during the registration process?
Please provide the student's personal email and NOT a high school email address, or parent email. Some High Schools may place a block on incoming emails that would prohibit us from sending you important information.

What area schools participate in the UNO Dual Enrollment Program?
UNO partners with several schools in the area. Here is a list of the schools in our High School Directory.
If I take a Dual Enrollment course, will the UNO credits transfer to other colleges? How does that happen?
Many colleges and universities will accept dual enrollment credit. You will need to request an Official Transcript from UNO's Office of the University Registrar, and they will send it to the institution(s) you indicated in your transcript request. It is the student's responsibility to determine how the specific college or university to which they are applying accepts dual enrollment credit. Students are encouraged to ask the following questions of the institution to which they want to transfer credit:
- Does your institution accept dual enrollment credit?
- If yes, how would you accept dual enrollment credit from UNO? (i.e. course number and name)
- If no, ask about Advanced Placement Exam policies.
- Will I be considered a freshman regardless of the number of credits I bring in? (Make sure you would still be eligible for all freshman scholarships.)
- Would the credits I bring to college count against the overall length and amount of any scholarship(s) I might receive?
What if I want to withdraw from a course?
If you think you're likely to not earn a passing grade, you should strongly consider officially withdrawing from the course. Successful withdrawal from a UNO Course prior to the deadline will result in a "W" grade posted on the student's UNO transcript. Students must request to withdraw from a course by the deadlines using the Student Appeal Form. Unless there are significant extenuating circumstances, students will not be permitted to withdraw from dual enrollment courses after the deadline.
Grading policies are determined by each UNO Dual Enrollment teacher in accordance with course expectations and local policies. The final grade is recorded on a UNO transcript. After completion of the course, instructors will post final grades via MavLINK.
How can I request a transcript?
A student can request a transcript online either through MavLINK or through eParchment. A student could also fill out a Paper Transcript Request Form. You can find this information on our Dual Enrollment Website.
Can I still enroll in Dual Enrollment after I have completed the course?
University policy does not allow for students to register and receive post-secondary credit for dual enrollment courses after the completion of the relevant term. This ensures the integrity of official academic records, as well as those that are transmitted to other institutions by the University.
What is the 1098-T form and how do I receive mine?
Form 1098-T is generated by the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) to report to the IRS tuition and fee amounts as well as any scholarship-type funding received. This form is required by the IRS each year that a student is enrolled in an eligible higher education institution. Your enrollment in the Dual Enrollment program at UNO qualifies you to receive form 1098-T. It is possible this form could be used by your parents to support a tax credit on an individual tax return. It may also be used to calculate taxable scholarship benefits received. The form can be accessed via MavLINK under Student Accounts.
