Understand the differences between Dual Enrollment, Early Entry, and Advanced Placement®.
Understanding the difference between Dual Enrollment, Early Entry, and Advanced Placement® can be challenging. Here are a few distinctions and resources to consider:

Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment is meant for high school students to enroll in a UNO course at their high school that also fulfills high school graduation requirements. College credit earned through the dual enrollment program is based on a student's cumulative performance throughout the duration of the UNO Dual Credit course.
A student will receive UNO credit on their UNO transcript if they have submitted an approved application, paid the appropriate tuition, and received a passing grade in the course.
Note: If you are enrolled and successfully pass a UNO Dual Enrollment class for which you are awarded academic credit, you cannot be awarded additional academic credit at UNO via the Advanced Placement® (AP®) Credit process for the same class.
Early Entry
Early Entry is meant for high school students to enroll in a UNO course that is not available at their high school. These courses are typically taught on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus, but may also be taught online depending on the course and availability.
A student will receive UNO credit on their UNO transcript if they have submitted an approved application, paid the appropriate tuition and received a passing grade in the course.
Advanced Placement®
Advanced Placement® is administered by the College Board®. Earning college credit through Advanced Placement® depends on how well students perform on the national AP® exam in May. Not every student who passes an AP® course will achieve a score high enough on the national AP® exam to earn college credit.
Not every score earned necessarily means proficiency or placement in a discipline. It is up to the student to understand what scores are required in order to express proficiency or placement. Universities like the University of Nebraska at Omaha will likely provide what scores are needed for proficiency or placement.
