Additional Information

An Artistic Legacy

by: Hali Barber

Wanda studied printmaking before teaching in a tenure-track position in UNO’s art department. Throughout her career, she faced the tensions and pressures of feminism, beauty, racial segregation, education, and pop culture. Her art reflected these tensions. In addition, she excelled as a teacher, drawing out the best from her students through their own artwork. Wanda died December 8, 2013, but has left an artistic legacy at UNO and in the Omaha community.
