The Bruce and Karen Karen Baker Lecture Series Presents Michael Branch, Ph.D. Branch is an eco-scholar, creative nonfiction writer, and professor of English at the University of Nevada, Reno. This lecture will take place Thursday, April 4 from 7:30 P.M. - 9 P.M. in CEC 230/231.
He is co-founder and past president of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment and co-founder and series co-editor of the University of Virginia Press book series Under the Sign of Nature: Explorations in Ecocriticism. He has published nine books and more than 200 articles, essays, and reviews. Mike is the recipient of the Western Literature Association awards for both creative writing and humor writing, the Ellen Meloy Desert Writers Award, and the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame Silver Pen Award.
The Bruce and Karen Baker Lecture series is named in honor of Bruce Baker, longtime UNO professor of English, and his wife, Karen. Bruce and Karen Baker recently established the lecture with a gift to the University of Nebraska Foundation. The series highlights voices of authors.
