STEPs History
Jodi has been with STEPs as a Program Evaluator since May 2018 and has worked with the following community partners or programs: Coalition on Human Trafficking, Drug Overdose Prevention (DOP): Drug Use Behaviors, I Be Black Girl, Nebraska Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (NeCLPPP), RSafe, S.A.F.E. Biographical Information
Jodi Gabel graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha Grace Abbott School of Social Work where she engaged in many research and evaluation activities. She has been in higher education since 2006, serving as both a counselor/advisor for disadvantaged students in a rural community college setting, as well as an adjunct instructor for various 4-year colleges and universities, teaching primarily research and program evaluation.
Professional Interests
Jodi’s passions reach far and wide, but particular areas of interest include the utilization of research and program evaluation in social work practice, equity and equality in education, family and sexual violence, and the intersection of spirituality and social work.
Something Personal
Jodi enjoys building community through activities such as gardening, athletics, and youth activities. Although she loves to travel and relishes the culture and amenities of the city, she cannot seem to shake her rural roots, living outside city limits with her growing family and flock of chickens.
