Mental health is an important part of overall wellness. When children, families, and individuals struggle with mental health concerns, finding a solution can be complicated and often involves many professionals and agencies. NeSOC provides a new approach and simplifies the process.
Overview
NeSOC, a framework rooted in the Twelve Guiding Principles, helps state agencies and private providers work in partnership to design and deliver mental health services and supports. NeSOC connects and coordinates state child-serving agencies, nonprofits and local governments, behavioral health care providers, and patient advocates. Driven by the National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards and Nebraska Behavioral Health's Guiding Principles, NeSOC empowers individuals to fully participate in their care plan.
NeSOC creates a preventative approach to treatment so that life’s challenges can be addressed prior to a need for a higher level of care, and it helps individuals function better at home, in school, in the community, and throughout life.
