Join the GASSW Practicum Office for the Summer Speaker Series! All workshops will be offered virtually (additional details coming soon) and include free CEUs for social work and mental health practice. As part of the Summer Speaker Series, two 1-hour ethics workshops will also be pre-recorded and available for viewing (additional details coming soon).
Effective Supervision: Retaining Quality Employees and Growing Successful Students
In this workshop, participants will:
• Gain valuable skills to get the most out of your team and encourage growth
• Explore how to address conflict, problem solving behaviors, and leading difficult conversations (with case examples)
• Learn about effective leadership styles and how to implement them
• Learn how to challenge, correct, and support employees and students
• Explore reasonable expectations for practicum students and what they need from you

How to Help During Cancer

This talk will present findings from a qualitative research study investigating the social supports used by patients during their cancer experience. From this research we can glean an understanding of how to help others through simple acts of kindness.

The Intersection of Social Work and Criminal Justice
