Managing the Board: Up and Out (Fundraising)

The fundraising environment today requires a strong relationship with one of your greatest fundraising assets, your nonprofit’s board. This course explores the unique and dynamic responsibility your board has to advance the mission and vision of your organization. This course will cover board engagement, recruitment, and structure, along with a panel of local nonprofit board members willing to answer your burning questions.
Fundraising is essential to achieving the worthy goals of your nonprofit. This course will survey fundraising topics such as:
- Donor Behavior
- Donor Cycle
- Donor Stewardship
- Development Plans
- Developing and presenting your unique story
- Gifting and
- Campaigns.
This course will also provide participants with practical examples and applications to deepen their fundraising skills

Telling Your Program Story for Grants and Fundraising

Telling your story: Writing for Nonprofits
This course will focus on how to tell your organizations story to inspire donors. We will explore storytelling models, review samples and spend time practicing lessons learned. In addition, we will hear from experts in the field to share their wins. We'll cover storytelling related to solicitations, acknowledgment letters, impact reports, press releases, grant applications and more. Attendees will walk away with a storymap outline to take back to their shop to put into practice
Angela Altamore - Associate Vice President, Stewardship and Donor Engagement Kansas State University Foundation
Angela Altamore has been a passionate donor advocate for over twelve years. As the senior director of stewardship and donor engagement on behalf of the KSU Foundation, Angela manages the teams responsible for ensuring donors have a gratifying gift experience.
Prior to finding her home in donor relations and stewardship, Angela gained more than five years of development and management experience in roles ranging from gift entry and prospect research to grant writing and gift officer work. This broad background enables her to understand multiple components of a development shop and use that knowledge to create unique donor interactions and events more fully.
Angela is President-Elect of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP) and a CASE volunteer.
