WHAT’S CERT? Community Emergency Response Team
The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness. People who attend training will acquire basic disaster response skills, including:
- Fire safety.
- Light search and rescue.
- Team organization.
- Disaster medical operations.
Using the training, CERT members can assist in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available.
