NCJR Receives Bureau of Justice Assistance Grant
NCJR recently received a BJA grant (OMB No. 1121-0329) for the evaluation of the Nebraska Board of Parole’s VRP Aftercare and CBI Open Groups. This two-pronged program seeks to reduce recidivism and violent crime. It will utilize the latest empirical evidence and best practice to address a wide variety of criminogenic needs. The program will develop and test new tools that predict violent reoffending. Researchers will analyze the crime reduction strategies, which can then be shared with agencies across the country. The goal is to promote open communication and collaboration among organizations and officials. Funds from this project are allocated for capacity-building activities.
