UNO’s BMS (formerly BGS) degree was first offered in 1951; the program began offering distance education courses in 1997 and an entirely online degree in 2007.
Online students at UNO have access to the same student services available to on-campus students. All of UNO’s online students have full access to a team of professional academic advisors who provide guidance and support. Academic advising is available online, over the phone and on campus.

Are online courses easier than on-campus courses?
No. The content of online courses mirrors that of on-campus courses. It has been modified to fit the online format. Many students report that online courses require more discipline and planning than some on-campus courses.
