Credit for Prior Learning

College Credits

We accept college credit from most colleges and universities, including:

• Regionally Accredited Institutions,
• Nationally Accredited Institutions, and

• Non-U.S. Tertiary Institutions

PRO-TIP: Your college credit NEVER expires

Standardized Exams

Credit may be earned by successfully completing eligible examinations, including:

• Advanced Placement Exams (AP)
• International Baccalaureate Exams (IB)
• College Level Exam Program (CLEP)
• DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST)

PRO-TIP: Up to 30 credit hours of exam credit can be applied to the BMS Degree

Non-Traditional Credit

Credit may be awarded for learning assessed by these organizations:

• American Council on Education (ACE)
• National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS)
• DCS Faculty Academic Policy Committee (FAPC)

Military Training and Experience

We award academic credit for military training and learning experiences from all branches of the military and the Defense Language Institute (DLI).

• Air Force - Transfer credit via the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Transcript
• Army - Transfer credit via the Joint Service Transcript
• Coast Guard - Transfer credit via the Joint Service Transcript
• Marine Corps - Transfer credit via the Joint Service Transcript
• Navy - Transfer credit via the Joint Service Transcript
• Defense Language Institute (DLI) - Transfer credit via the DLI transcript

PRO-TIP: Military credit is transferred by sending the above transcripts to UNO Admissions
