Ph.D. Alumnus Sean Maddan Elected President of the Southern Criminal Justice Association
Sean Maddan, a graduate of the doctoral program in criminology and criminal justice (2005), was elected president of the Southern Criminal Justice Association at the 2016 annual conference in Savannah, GA. Professor Maddan previously served as second vice president and as an executive board member for the association.
Professor Maddan is an associate professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Tampa. His research focuses on criminological theory, statistics, research methods, court processing, and the efficacy of sex offender registration and notification laws. Professor Maddan has authored over a dozen articles, which have appeared in outlets such as Justice Quarterly, Crime and Delinquency, and the Journal of Criminal Justice. Dr. Maddan has also authored/co-authored several books.
