Ph.D. Alumna Karyn Sporer to be Honored at American Society of Criminology Conference
Karyn Sporer, a 2016 graduate of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice doctoral program, will be honored at the upcoming American Society of Criminology conference. She will receive the Graduate Student Paper of the Year Award from the Division of Victimology. Her paper was published earlier this year in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence under the title, "Aggressive Children With Mental Illness: A Conceptual Model of Family-Level Outcomes." Both her paper and article are based on data she collected as part of her dissertation research which involved ethnographic interviews with relatives of violent family members with serious mental illness. Dr. Sporer is an assistant professor at the University of Maine.
