John Levy is the vice president of the William and Ruth Scott Family Foundation. In this role, John works annually with over 100 organizations throughout the state of Nebraska in facilitating grants and gifts ranging in size between $10,000 and $20 million. Prior to this position, John was an attorney at an international law firm and large regional law firm before becoming the executive director of a large social service agency in north Omaha serving roughly 8,000 people monthly.
John earned his Bachelor degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas, his Master’s degree in History from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
He is actively engaged in the community as the board president of Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, board president of Southside Redevelopment, board director of Economic Empowerment Center, advisory board member of Latino Center of the Midlands, advisory board member of Simple Foundation, and trustee of Mount Michael Benedictine High School along with coaching a refugee girls soccer team, being a Cub Scouts den leader, and serving a mentor for several youth through a local community organization.
