Financial Support for Teachers
Pursuing graduate studies is hard work and comes with financial costs. We're working hard to support teachers earning credentials in teaching computing!
Traditional financial aid packages and scholarships are available to graduate students who qualify. In addition, teachers from various districts may be eligible for various tuition assistance programs depending on their unique circumstances.
Current opportunities for additional assistance are described below, but we also encourage those who are interested to contact us to discuss other possibilities that may be available.
Omaha Public School Teachers
Thanks to generous support from a private donor, Omaha Public School teachers who are interested in pursuing graduate work in Computer Science Education are eligible to apply for a scholarship to cover tuition and fees associated with the program. Funding is awarded based on availability, the potential for a teacher's near-term impact on OPS students in the area of computer science and information technology, and satisfactory progress in the program. Teachers must be admitted and enrolled in courses prior to applying for this scholarship.

Dual Enrollment Instruction
Tuition support may be available to support teachers actively engaged in or pursuing dual enrollment instruction with UNO and the College of Information Science & Technology.
Teachers and schools interested in pursuing dual enrollment opportunities in computing should contact the Office of General Education and Dual Enrollment to discuss possibilities.
Support for Out-of-State Students
UNO offers multiple mechanisms to help defray the cost of attendance for out-of-state graduate students, including students in our Computer Science Education program.
- The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) is available for residents of Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. MSEP participants receive a reduced out-of-state tuition rate that is capped at 150% of the in-state rate. More information about MSEP is available from the graduate studies website.
- Students from select counties in Southwest Iowa may benefit from participating in UNO's Metropolitan Advantage Program (MAP).
- Out-of-state students applying to this program are also eligible for the competitively awarded UNO Advantage Scholarship program. Qualifying students will automatically be considered by the graduate program committee at the time of admission.
