Dr. Paula M Jakopovic

Dr. Paula Jakopovic is an fulltime Instructor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she supports pre-service teachers leading the Elementary Math Methods courses through the College of Education, as well as the Math for Elementary School Teachers courses through the Mathematics Department. Dr. Jakopovic teaches using active learning techniques in the classroom, as well as supervises field experiences and provides instructional coaching and feedback for pre-service teacher candidates. She leads graduate courses for the College of Education in the summer. Along with her course load, Dr. Jakopovic is a co-principal investigator on the Nebraska Noyce Mathematics grant at UNO, where one of her primary responsibilities is mentoring student interns and scholars. Dr. Jakopovic is also senior personnel on the BodyModels STEM grant starting in 2018.

Dr. Jakopovic serves on the Graduate Elementary Education Program Committee in the department of Teacher Education. In the community, she collaborates with the Omaha Public Schools as a consultant on their Math Task Force, and works with elementary math teachers to provide instructional coaching and training supports.
