Dr. Ashley Blount received the Best Practices Researcher Award at the American Counseling Association’s (ACA) 2017 Conference and Expo in San Francisco, CA in March.
The Best Practices Researcher Award is given to individuals who completed research projects that further the evidence-base for counseling practice.
The award was a result of a Wellness Scale developed by Dr. Blount—the Helping Professional Wellness Discrepancy Scale (HPWDS)—which measures the difference between perceived wellness (how well we think we are) and aspirational wellness (how well we wish we were) in helping professionals (counselors, psychologists, and social workers).
Congratulations, Dr. Blount!
