MOEC Presents Diane Ravitch, "Reign of Error"
The Metropolitan Omaha Educational Consortium (MOEC) hosted a presentation featuring Dr. Diane Ravitch, New York Times best-selling author and nationally renowned educational speaker, Thursday, November 12 at the CenturyLink Center.
Dr. Ravitch one of our nation’s leading advocates for public education. She is a renowned research professor of education at New York University and former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education in the Administration of President George H. W. Bush. A prolific writer she has authored 10 education focused books and more than 500 articles in scholarly and popular publications. |
Her blog has received more than 20 million page views since 2012. In her most recent book Reign of Error: The Hoax of the Privatization Movement and the Danger to America’s Schools she points out the short-comings of the privatization of public schools and provides a clear path to how to preserve and improve our public schools.
She has received numerous national and international honors and awards. A native of Houston, Texas she is a graduate of the Houston Public Schools. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College, and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
