The School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) is dedicated to the vitality of scholarly activity. HPER supports a thriving research and creative activity agenda that spans biomechanics; exercise science; health and wellness; recreation; and modern dance.
The scholarly activity focuses on creating better healthy living opportunities for all. The school is home to the Biomechanics Research Building, the Nebraska Biomechanics Core Facility, the Exercise Physiology Lab and The Moving Company. The School is recognized for its cutting edge research in the study of human movement, exercise, and health and wellness. A large number of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows from around the world, study under the guidance of highly productive faculty.
