The Moving Company
Showcases, Concerts and Residencies
The University of Nebraska Omaha is pleased to announce that the 2015-2016
academic year marks the 80th anniversary of the Moving Company. This 80
year legacy distinguishes the company as one of the oldest university
modern dance companies in continuous existence in the United States.
To mark this monumental occasion, the Moving Company is creating a spring
showcase that will celebrate our legacy as a university dance company.
Current company members have choreographed pieces inspired by particular
decades. These pieces are influenced by both modern dance of the decade
and the themes and movement of the UNO Moving Company repertoire. Through
these new works the company strives to honor our past and understand how
that history informs our future.
We invite alumni of The Moving Company to participate in the 80th celebration showcase.
Participation can be at any level. Alumni can join in the celebration by dancing,
being acknowledge as alumni on stage, or simply by attending the performance as an
audience member. Please contact The Moving Company at firstname.lastname@example.org
to respond to the level of involvement you would like to have.
