My educational background is in Counseling Psychology. I am licensed to practice as a psychologist in the state of Nebraska. I teach exclusively graduate-level coursework in the Department of Counseling, and advise students in both Clinical Mental Health and Student Affairs in Higher Education. I serve as Program Coordinator for the Student Affairs in Higher Education concentration. I supervise student thesis projects, and enjoy research collaboration with faculty and staff across the UNO campus and at other institutions of higher education.
I have a variety of teaching interests including both Assessment and Career Counseling. I also teach/supervise clinical courses such as beginning practicum and advanced internship.
Research and Creative Interests
My research primarily focuses on career development in college students and student-athletes. I also engage in collaborative research across disciplines (e.g., Special Education, Criminal Justice, Health and Kinesiology.). I enjoy both qualitative and mixed-methods research designs.
I serve on multiple committees within the Department of Counseling (e.g., Honors and Awards Committee) the College of Education (e.g., Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee), the university (e.g., Graduate Council)), and the profession. In terms of the latter, I chair a sub-committee of the Nebraska Counseling Association (NE Career Development Assoc.) and I serve on the Continuing Education Committee of the Nebraska Psychological Association.
