Scripts for nonlinear analysis
The Center for Research in Human Movement Variability at the University of Nebraska at Omaha specializes in the nonlinear analysis of human movement. We freely provide some of our tools in MATLAB so nonlinear analysis can be used more widely. The toolbox can be downloaded through the UNO Biomechanics profile on the MATLAB File Exchange (https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/profile/authors/15701836-uno-biomechanics). If you do use these scripts or modifications of them please make sure to credit the Center for Research in Human Movement Variability at the University of Nebraska at Omaha along with the website and date accessed.
Much of the analyses below are derived from or inspired by existing work in the academic literature. Where applicable, these are included in the comments within the individual scripts. Those same comments provide instructions for use and details on the development of the code. We ask that you please consult these comments first before contacting us for assistance. If you do need assistance please contact us at unobiomechanics@unomaha.edu.
Nonlinear Analysis are derived from higher levels of math and while some of the code may seem simple, much of the applications and background will be complex. We advise that you consult the literature to better understand these applications and background. The Nonlinear Analysis Core Facility, part of the Center, also provides a week-long annual Nonlinear Analysis Workshop where we educate participants on these methods. To register, please visit our Annual Nonlinear Analysis Workshop webpage.
