"Rarely does one have the opportunity to sit in the midst of fellow thinkers, intellectual creatives analyzing, rather than simply surviving, the world in which we’re placed. The conversations, and the writing that followed them, reflected an enthusiasm not always prominent in [my hometown]. I find the end of this MFA journey bittersweet. I’ll miss the advice, the guidance of my work. I’ll miss the one-on-ones with mentors, the lectures and workshops. But, most of all, I’ll miss the people, the unity found in an environment ripe with active minds. It’s hard to imagine it’s over, and I intend to return often to, at the very least, ruminate. I look forward to maintainine contact with the brilliant individuals I’ve met through this program, strengthening the creative community."
