UNO School of the Arts-Theatre presents "Dogfight: The Musical," music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Book by Peter Duchan. Based on the Warner Bros. Film and Screenplay by Bob Comfort.
On a long bus ride to San Francisco after returning home from the Vietnam war, a US marine has a flashback to the night before his deployment four years earlier. It was November 21, 1963, the eve of both the Kennedy assassination and America’s loss of innocence. He and his two buddies have a final night of debauchery with a contest to see who can bring the ugliest date to a party. Our marine is haunted by that night’s memory and the losses of Vietnam until he goes on a trek to reconnect with that date who teaches him about compassion, forgiveness and reconciliation.
The cast includes Isaac Glover, Abby Cameron, Jarod Cernosek, Delaney Jackson, Juan Valdovinos, Emily Bradshaw, Meg O'Doherty, Kumiko Adachi, Ben Johnson, Carli Tomac, Cole Larson, Nora Glenn Halder, Jesus Aguilar, Sara Bradshaw, Chris Hemmer, Paige Wolfe, Brandon Butts, Kylah Calloway.
