UNO School of the Arts-Theatre and the Union for Contemporary Art present Blood at the Root, by Dominique Morisseau.
As part of its ongoing “Connection Series,” UNO Theatre collaborates with Omaha’s Union for Contemporary Art to create inspiring theatre that fosters dialogue in the community. A creative team from both organizations recounts the story of the Jena Six—a group of Black students who were initially charged with attempted murder for a school fight after being provoked with nooses hanging from a tree on campus. Join us for a theatrical conversation about justice, racial double standards, and a crisis in relations between men and women of all classes.
The cast includes Cote Werner, Aaron Thomas Butler, Shae'Kell Butler, Kylah Calloway, Margaret Dean, Meg O'Doherty, Mirakle Crockett, De'Avia Ray, Toni Metzler, TammyRa' Jackson.
