Mark Misfeldt joined the UNO faculty in 2000 and teaches applied jazz piano, music theory, sight singing, and ear training.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in music and education from Midland Lutheran College, Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and has completed extensive work in jazz studies and piano at the University of North Texas.
Mark has taught and performed in a wide variety of settings including the UNO Faculty Jazz Combo, Omaha Symphonic Chorus, master classes with Bobby McFerrin, Michele Weir, Richard Faith, and Lilya Zilberstein, Omaha Public Schools, Nebraska Children's Chorus, faculty, student, and visiting artist performances including Mike Metheny, Scott Whitfield, and Robin Eubanks.
Mark works as freelance pianist and accompanist, maintains a large private studio, and is frequently a guest clinician and adjudicator. He is affiliated with the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.
