The Genius of Warren Buffett Executive MBA course teaches University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) graduate students, alumni and lifelong learners Buffett’s business valuation methods.
For the first time, the fall 2018 course will meet on three consecutive days:
- Thursday, Oct. 4 | 3 P.M. - 9 P.M.
- Friday, Oct. 5 | 3 P.M. to 9 P.M.
- Saturday, Oct. 6 | 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.
All three sessions will take place in UNO’s Mammel Hall Executive MBA Suite. The course is taught by Robert Miles, a worldwide lecturer and author of three books on Buffett.
Over 18 hours, executives will study Buffett’s investment principles through the case study of businesses and stocks purchased by the Berkshire Hathaway CEO. The course is the only investment training program of its kind in the world and will feature three guest speakers privy to the accomplishments of Buffett. The course will also include multiple valuation exercises and a stock pitch contest.
The course serves as a UNO Executive MBA elective and is open to investors of all levels in addition to lifelong learners. Since The Genius of Warren Buffett began in 2011, lifelong learners have traveled to UNO from six continents and more than 35 countries to study Buffett and take advantage of the course’s short time commitment.
The Genius of Warren Buffett will help investors master portfolio skills and become better equipped to make industry as well as stock selections. The course will also explore Buffett’s investment mistakes and help executives avoid making similar decisions in order to strengthen their research skills. At the end of the course, participants will receive a UNO CBA Certificate of Completion. Catered dinners will be provided on Thursday and Friday and a catered lunch will be offered on Saturday.
The Genius of Warren Buffett: The Science of Investing is a course offered as part of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Executive MBA program. The Genius of Warren Buffett course meets twice a year in the spring and fall. The spring 2019 course will meet April 29-May 1, 2019 in UNO’s Mammel Hall Executive MBA Suite. The spring course precedes the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting.
