Executive MBA Director Bill Swanson is retiring this spring after a career that has spanned nearly 20 years at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
Serving as director of Executive MBA and Executive Management Education since October 2008, Swanson has been instrumental in strengthening the programs as well as providing vision and direction in areas such as external relations, recruitment, international project sponsorships, curriculum design, administration, fundraising and alumni relations.
In addition to leading Executive MBA, Swanson has held posts as assistant dean of the UNO College of Business Administration, assistant to the vice chancellor and director of career services. He has also served as campus legislative liaison and on the university’s Strategic Planning Steering Council and the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Women.
Outside UNO, Swanson worked as the director of training and development at First National Bank of Omaha and held several managerial positions at Valmont Industries.
He earned an Executive MBA from UNO in 1991.
