Recognized as a living legend in India’s medical community, Dr. Nirmal Surya will present “Challenges and Strategies for Spreading Awareness of Epilepsy in a Developing Society” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, in Mammel Hall 325.  

Dr. Surya founded the Epilepsy Foundation of India in 2009. The successful nonprofit spreads awareness and offers free diagnosis and treatment across rural India for a disease that affects 30 percent of the population.
