Dr. Holland started her career in marketing and technical sales support at New England Telephone and Northern Telecom. She returned to academe and earned her PhD in Marketing from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1996. Dr. Holland joined the Marketing Department at UNO where she is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing.
Dr. Holland's teaching interests include Sustainability and Business, Integrated Marketing Communications, Consumer Behavior, and Graphic Design for Marketing Managers
Research and Creative Interests
Professor Holland's research interests include the study of sustainability and the triple bottom line, integrated marketing communications, consumer behavior and fair-trade marketing. Her work has been published in the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal for the Art of Teaching, and Issues in Accounting Education, among others. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Retailing and Journal of Business Research and a member of the American Marketing Association, Association for Consumer Research, and Omaha Federation of Advertising.
Professor Holland serves as on the Chancellor appointed UNO Sustainability Committee and as the Coordinator of the Boys and Girls Clubs Stock Market Championship and is a Community Partner BeadforLife, a Fair Trade organization dedicated to eradicating poverty. Dr. Holland is actively involved with Service Learning experiences for her courses. Her students have developed marketing materials for numerous community organizations such as Film Streams, The Joslyn Museum, Boys and Girls Clubs, Strategic Air and Space Museum, and St. Paul Lutheran Church School, among many others.
