No Limits 2016
No Limits 2016 will be Friday, March 11 at the Nebraska Union, Lincoln, NE. This year a one day conference format with student panels in the morning and afternoon and an early evening keynote.
Our keynote talk is “Pleasure and Danger: Sex, Violence, and Ethics in the Age of Digital Media" by Gigi Durham, Professor, School of Journalism and Mass Communication and Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies, University of Iowa. The keynote lecture will address the cybersex environment as progressive in some ways, opening up spaces for alternative sexual communities, especially in conservative cultural environments, but regressive in other ways, perpetuating power hierarchies and endangering real-world people. Durham will outline an ethical approach for critiquing gender and sexuality online.
